Board Members
Mark Reder
Mark Reder (Chair) leads Fleishman-Hillard's public affairs and communications team in Vancouver as Senior Vice President and Senior Partner and General Manager. Mr. Reder advises some of British Columbia’s leading public and private sector organizations on matters such as major project developments, crisis situations, policy and legislative change, and corporate change and restructuring. A past member of the West Vancouver Police Board, he has also served as the commercial and economic consul at the British High Commission in Canada. Mr. Reder holds a B.A. in political science from the University of British Columbia. He studied Chinese at the National University in Taiwan, where he helped establish the first ‘cross-cultural communications’ consulting practice in the country. Mark has worked and traveled extensively in Asia and Europe

Norm Lipinski
Norm Lipinski is currently an Assistant Commissioner with RCMP “E” Division. Previously, he served 32 years with the Edmonton Police Service, most recently as a Deputy Chief. Active in the community, he has served as co-Chair for the Lurana Woman’s Shelter and Secretary of the Edmonton Police Foundation. Professionally, Mr. Lipinski is a member of the Police Executive Research Forum, International Association of Chiefs of Police, and Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police. Mr. Lipinski holds his Master of Business Administration from the Athabasca University and his Bachelor of Law from University of Alberta. He is a member of the Alberta Law Society and has completed the Law Enforcement Leadership program with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Virginia Hasselfield
Virginia Hasselfield is a Director of Leadership Giving at Simon Fraser University. Previously, she was an Owner and Operator of Cross Cultural Consulting Inc. and a Teacher and Principal with Deloraine Collegiate. In the community, she served as a Director with the Fraser River Port Authority, member of the Cultural Achievement Awards Committee in Surrey, and a former Chair and volunteer with the Canadian Country Music Awards. Ms. Hasselfield holds her Bachelor of Arts and her Education Certificate from the University of Manitoba.

Baj Puri
Baj Puri (Board member until March 31st, 2012) is retired from IRLY Distributors and is very active in his community. Currently the President of the BC Association of Police Boards, Mr. Puri has served as a member of New Westminster Police Board, Director/Chair of St. John's Ambulance, Director/Chair of Douglas College Foundation, member of the New Westminster Advisory Planning Commission and member of the Downtown Parking Commission. In 1996, he was recognized as Citizen of the Year and has received Her Majesty the Queen Silver and Golden Jubilee Medals for community service. In 1998, Mr. Puri was awarded the Industry Merit Award from the Building Supply Dealers Association.

Patricia Gallivan
Patricia Gallivan is a Partner with Lawson Lundell Lawson & McIntosh in Vancouver specializing in labour relations and employment law. In addition to her practice, Ms. Gallivan has published several papers and facilitated seminars on various aspects of labour relations and human rights. A former member of the West Vancouver Police Board, she has also held the position as Director, Vancouver Neurological Centre. Ms. Gallivan was called to the BC Bar in 1977

Sara Levine
Sara Levine is Associate Counsel at Alliance Lex, practicing privacy and freedom of information law. Active in her community, Ms. Levine currently serves as co-Chair of the Privacy and Freedom of Information section of the Canadian Bar Association - BC; she does pro bono work for the BC Freedom of Information and Privacy Association; and is past-member of the Executive of the Board of Directors of Richmond Jewish Day School. Prior to returning to Vancouver from Ontario in 2005, Ms. Levine served on the executives of the Privacy Section of the Canadian Bar Association-Ontario; the Women Lawyer's Association-Ontario and on the Board of 416 Drop-In Centre for homeless and mentally ill women in Toronto. Ms. Levine holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University

Dale Parker
Dale Parker is a Corporate Director; prior to January 1998, President & CEO of Workers’ Compensation Board of British Columbia; prior to November 1994, President of White Spot Limited and Executive Vice-president of Shato Holdings Ltd.; prior to November 1992, Chairman and CEO of British Columbia Financial Institutions Commission. Mr. Parker is a former President & CEO, Bank of British Columbia and Executive Vice-president, Bank of Montreal. He serves as a director of Matrix Asset Management Inc., UBC Investment Management Trust and Encorp Pacific [Canada]. Past directorships include: TransLink (Chair), Talisman Energy Inc, Industrial-Alliance Pacific Life Insurance Co and CPP Investment Board.
Mr. Parker is active with a number of charitable and non-profit organizations, including; Chair, Pacific Parkinsons Research Institute. Recent past community work includes: Chair, BC Cancer Agency, Vice-Chair, BC Cancer Foundation, Chair, Four Corners Community Savings, Vice-President Kidney Foundation of Canada, Vice-President, BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities, Vice-Chair, Vancouver Police Department, Vice-Chair, Vancouver Board of Trade and Chair, Industry Training and Apprenticeship Commission of British Columbia. He is a former member of the UBC Faculty of Commerce & Business, Advisory Board. Mr. Parker is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of the Graduate School of Business Administration, Harvard University.

Doug LePard
Doug LePard has been a member of the Vancouver Police Department since 1981 and is currently a Deputy Chief commanding the Operations Division, which includes over 800 frontline police officers. Mr. LePard holds a B.A. in Criminology from Simon Fraser University and certificates from the Canadian Police College, Queen’s and Harvard. He has extensive investigative experience and has lectured on related issues in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Mr. LePard has written or co-written several articles and book chapters on assessing risk in stalking cases, best practices in police interviewing and preventing wrongful convictions. He has also authored a comprehensive review of the Vancouver-area Missing Women serial killing investigation. He has been honoured with numerous commendations and in 2008 was invested as a Member of the Order of Merit for the Police Forces by the Governor General.
