Charges Laid in Stolen Transit Ticket Investigation

Theft and fraud charges have been laid in connection with an investigation into stolen transit tickets.

The TransLink FareSaver tickets, which are sold in packs of 10, were allegedly stolen from a Metro Vancouver shredding company where they had been scheduled to be destroyed in June 2010.  The estimated retail value of the stolen tickets is $153,000.

James Gordon Hemenway, age 40, of Vancouver, and Patrick Robert Parry, age 46, of Surrey have been charged with one count each of Theft over $5,000.00 & Fraud over $5,000.00

Hemenway and Parry were employed by the shredding company where the alleged theft occurred.

They are scheduled to appear in a Vancouver court in December.
