Chief's Message

Chief Officer Neil Dubord
Leadership is always a privilege and leadership of the Transit Police is a distinct honour. I have been afforded a position that carries with it an enormous responsibility and trust. I will not take that for granted.
Transit Police is the only police service of its kind in Canada. It is an innovative, well positioned police service with a distinct strategic position. It is the envy of other jurisdictions and it has quickly developed the reputation for strong partnerships, robust community engagement and good customer service.
The progress made by the Transit Police since its start just 6 years ago is nothing short of remarkable and is a compliment to the efforts and contribution of everyone. Yet we are still a very young and developing organization. This unique model of policing presents many challenges but along with each challenge comes opportunity.
As Chief Officer I commit to provide the leadership required to deliver a professional service that meets our community’s expectations and will focus on accountability, transparency and inclusion:
- heightened levels of accountability..... serves to set a standard of expectation and concentrate the energy of the organization on clear and concise objectives;
- we will be transparent ....about our success and failures learning to measure our results and continuously improve our approach as we go forward; and
- we will be inclusive with our success being predicated on the Transit Police working together with individuals or groups, with partners and colleagues and with our ridership and city administrators to create the safest public transportation system in North America.
