January 30th 2010
2010-1193:
A fifty-one year old male was checked by members at Surrey Central for having an invalid fare. Through further investigation officers learned he was the suspect involved in numerous personating offences. He has been using his brother’s name. He was also wanted on outstanding VPD warrant for failing to
Comply with court ordered conditions. He was arrested and transported to Surrey cells. Computer checks revealed he was a suspect in 19 associated personating files, and had 16 unpaid Transit Tickets.

January 29th

2010-1153:
A male was reported passed out on an outbound train from KG Station. Members managed to intercept the train at Surrey Central. A 29 year old male was located on the train. He was in need of medical assistance. Further investigation revealed he had consumed Listerine and Tylenol in attempts to overdose. EHS attended, stabilized the male and then transported him to Surrey Memorial hospital for treatment. Family of the male was notified.

January 28th 2010

10-1115 Gateway Skytrain Station, Surrey: Officers were conducting mobile patrols in Surrey area when they observed two males walking together. Both young offenders were known to police. Both males arrested because they had conditions not to have contact with each other, therefore breaching court ordered conditions.

10-1106 Metrotown Skytrain Station, Burnaby: Transit Police assisted a female who was reported as missing by staff at Vancouver General Hospital. The women who was located on the skytrain and still in her hospital attire and no shoes, was escorted back to hospital.


January 26th 2010

10-1027 Surrey Elementary School: A Transit Police officer attended a Surrey School to provide sixty grade three and four students a presentation on Skytrain and bus safety and security. The officer also spoke to the children about the police role in today’s' society.

10-1016 Gateway Skytrain Station, Surrey: Transit Police were conducting a fare check at the station when a male was unable to produce a valid fare. A check revealed the male had an outstanding warrant and subsequently was arrested and transported to Surrey RCMP.

January 25th 2010
10-979 Gateway Skytrain Station, Surrey:
A female that was reported missing by her mother to Calgary Police was located here by Transit Police during routine patrols. The female who is an adult did not wish to have contact with her mother. She appeared in good health and not in need. This information was passed onto Calgary Police for their file. They in turn would advise the mother.

January 24th 2010
10-962 Metro town Skytrain Station:
Transit Police were called to a report of a male in the guide way on the platform at the Metrotown Skytrain Station. The male who had fallen into the tracks after the train had left the station suffered a cut to the left side of his head and was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital.

January 22 2010
10-869 Gateway Skytrain Station, Surrey: Transit Police were conducting fare enforcement at the Gateway Skytrain when approached by a male who did not have a fare. Upon further investigation it is learned that the male had a warrant out of New Westminster.  The male was arrested and transported to New Westminster jail.

10-859 Main Street Skytrain Station, Vancouver: A male was served a Driving Prohibition after being checked in a farepaid zone with inadequate fare.  The male who was not driving at the time, was aware that he had these restrictions imposed by ICBC.

10-860 King George Skytrain Station, Surrey: While conducting fare enforcement at the King George Skytrain Station Transit Police encountered a male who could not produce a fare. Further investigation revealed that the male be served a three month Driving Prohibition from ICBC.  The drivers' license was seized and sent to the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles.
10-882 Main and Pender, Vancouver: A Coast Mountain Bus Driver was spit on by a passenger. Vancouver Police were on scene when Transit Police arrived. Transit will provide members copies of the video from aboard the bus in an attempt to identify the subject of complaint.

10-891 Laughed Skytrain Station, Burnaby: Two separate individuals were bear-sprayed in an attempted robbery at the Lougheed Skytrain Station. The Burnaby RCMP arrested a male involved and identified by witnesses. Transit Police attended and will provide CCTV footage for the investigation.

10-900 New Westminster Skytrain Station, New Westminster: Transit Police were assisting Skytrain Attendants in closing down the New Westminster Skytrain Station when officers dealt with a male who had been drinking and was causing a disturbance.  The male was found to be in Breach of his conditions and was transported to New Westminster jail.


January 21 2010
10-816 Metrotown Bus loop, Burnaby: Transit Police were conducting a fare check aboard a bus in the Metrotown area when two passengers produced invalid fares.  A check of the passengers revealed that the female had two outstanding warrants from Coquitlam RCMP and one from Vancouver.  The female was arrested and transported to Coquitlam RCMP jail.

10-800 Burnaby: While conducting routine vehicle patrols, officers observed a vehicle that appeared to be swerving out of its own lane.  Transit Police conducted a traffic stop and found the lone male to be in the possession of an open can of Budweiser beer.  Upon further investigation the male was issued a 24hour Driving Prohibition and the vehicle was towed from the area.

10-837 Bridgeport Skytrain Station, Richmond: Officers were conducting onboard fare checks when a male failed to produce a valid fare.  When the male was taken off the train to confirm his identity, Transit Police found him to be in Breach of an Undertaking Given to a Justice.  The Breach stated that he, “not to be at any Skytrain Station or bus loop including any Canada Line of Coast Mountain property or vehicle.  The male was arrested and transported to Vancouver jail.

10-841 Commercial Street Skytrain Station, Vancouver: Transit Police were conducting foot patrols in the area of the Commercial Street Skytrain Station when they observed a male and a female with open beer.  While confirming identity officers found the male to be in Breach of his conditions not to have any contact with the female.  Subsequently he was arrested and transported to Vancouver jail.

10-849 Scott Road Skytrain Station, Surrey: An anti-Olympic sticker was posted at the Skytrain Station.  The item was photographed and removed.

10-781 Vancouver: While conducting a project on the buses Transit Police’s Crime Reduction Unit removed an intoxicated male off the bus who was loud and offensive to other passengers. The male who was unable to care for himself was transported to Vancouver Detox to be released when sober.
 

 

January 18 2010
10-707 Broadway Skytrain Station:
A male assaulted a female near the A&W Restaurant located near the Broadway/Commercial Skytrain Stations which was observed by two independent witnesses.  It appears the male who knows the female had her in a head lock and eventually threw her to the ground. The male was quickly arrested by officers as he was held by witnesses till police arrived.  The male was taken to Vancouver jail to face charges of assault. The female suffered only a minor cut to her knee.

10-689 Lougheed Skytrain Station:
Transit Police Officers assisted New Westminster Police in locating a suicidal female. The women who had just recently broken up with her boyfriend sent a text message to a friend stating that she felt suicidal. The female who was located at the Lougheed Skytrain Station parking lot by Transit Police and NWPS.

10-703 Burnaby: A routine traffic stop by Transit Police Monday evening found the male driver of the vehicle not to be in possession of a valid British Columbia driver’s license. Subsequently a search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating 20 rocks of cocaine.  The vehicle will be impounded for a period of thirty days. The registered owner was notified by Transit Police.

10-704 Vancouver:
Two Transit Police officers arrested a male who had attempted to steal a purse from a restaurant after allegedly committing a dine and dash in the amount of $190. The male and his female companion quickly left the restaurant in the downtown core only to realize the female had left her purse at the restaurant. The male returned to the restaurant and a struggle ensued with restaurant staff. Transit Police arrested the male numerous blocks away. He was found to have two outstanding Vancouver warrants, and was turned over to Vancouver Police.


January 17 2010
10-645 Skytrain Operations and Maintenance Centre:
A train has been tagged with graffiti after unknown person or persons cut through the chain link fencing surrounding the facility. Security cameras are being viewed while the investigation continues to be on going.

10-647 Commercial Drive Skytrain Station:
Transit Police located a male reported to be missing out of the Toronto area.  The male was not aware that he had been reported as missing.  The situation has since been rectified.

10-648 Gilmore Station:
Transit Police check male Individual. He was found to have an outstanding Canada wide warrant for Breach of Parole. He was also in possession of drugs. Transported to Burnaby cells for processing.

10-658 Metrotown:
Immigration arrest. A male checked was found to have an outstanding immigration warrant. He was arrested and held in custody for processing by Canada Immigration. Escorted to Burnaby RCMP cells.


January 16 2010
10-640:
A minor disturbance broke out at the New Westminster Skytrain Station when a group of youth became rowdy after leaving the Spanish Cultural Centre of Carnarvon. Additional units were required to help the group dissipate.  No injuries or charges as a result of this event.

10-592:
Traffic stop in Richmond resulted in the passenger of that vehicle found to have outstanding Immigration Warrant. The male was transported to Richmond RCMP cells.

10-598 Stadium Skytrain Station:
Transit Police were making contacts with the public and checking transit users when a male was found to have an outstanding warrant for street solicitation. The male was arrested and was transported to Vancouver jail.

10-603:
Transit Police assisted Vancouver Police by locating a missing autistic 13yr old youth. By making exhaustive patrols of the area the youth was located near Cambie and W41st and subsequently turned over to the Vancouver Police.


January 15 2010
10-533 Metrotown Bus loop:
A female received minor injuries after being struck by a car on central ave near the bus loop. Transit Police Officers assisted Burnaby RCMP while EHS attended to victim.

10-538:
Vehicle stop results in the driver being given a 24hour driving suspension for being under the influence of narcotics.

10-577 Brentwood Skytrain Station:
Transit Police arrest male for 2 outstanding warrants for theft and uttering threats. Male transported to Burnaby cells. This arrest was a result of making contact and checking transit users.


January 10 2010: Transit Police arrest four males on outstanding warrants. All arrests were the result of making contact and checking transit users. Those arrests are as follows..

10-366: At Edmonds Station an adult male wanted by Saanich Police for drug offences, under the CDSA, was arrested. He was escorted to Burnaby cells for transport to the Island.

09-13094: As part of an ongoing investigation Transit Police attended a residence in New Westminster and arrest an adult male for assaulting a police officer. He was taken to New West PD cells to await court in the morning.

10-371: At New West Station a male checked was wanted by Surrey RCMP for Breaching his Probation X 2. He was escorted to Surrey cells.

10-381: At Granville Station a male who was wanted by VPD for breaching his probation by possessing a weapon was located. He was arrested and escorted to VPD cells.

 

January 8 2010

10-397 Broadway Station: A Cdn passport is turned over to Transit Police Officers. A quick search thru police computer data bases assisted in locating the owners contact information and the officers were able to turn the passport over to him.

10-400 Stadium Station: Suspicious Circumstances - a man had set up a camera on a tripod on the platform. When was asked by a SkyTrain Attendant what he was doing and if he had permission, he quickly packed up his equipment and left. He refused to produce ID or wait or explain what he needed. CCTV may reveal identity.

10-405 Stadium Station: A Male on a motorized wheel chair accidently rolled into the tracks.  Train struck him but stopped before running completely over him.  EHS/VFD attended and rendered assistance to the victim who is was conscious and did not appear severely injured.

10-394: Plain Clothes officers were conducting surveillance at Scott Road Station as a result of complaints that persons were stuffing the parking ticket machines.
One male was observed to stuff three machines, move away for a period of time, then return to clear the money from the machines.  He was arrested while attempting to clear one of the machines. He is now charged with Mischief and Attempted theft. He is well known to police who will ask the courts to restrict him from certain transit properties.

10-418: Transit Police locate an injured male at Kingsway & Willingdon. He appeared to have been stabbed in the lower back. Ambulance and RCMP attended. The victim was very uncooperative. He was taken to Burnaby General Hospital. 

10-361: SFU Bus loop, Transit Police Officers dispatched to a B&E to CMBC drivers crew room. Suspects sometime overnight broke through the door to the crew room and broke into a pop machine, removing all the coins.
 


December 11 2009 

09-14099 Near Braid Station: Transit Police Officers pull vehicle over. Several occupants, male and females. The driver is on numerous no contact conditions. Identities of other passengers checked. One female lied about her name and was arrested. She was found to be in possession of several stolen / fraudulent ID cards and credit cards. She also had a replica postal key and several crack pipes. File is SUI.

09-14096: Transit Police receive reports of a male on a SkyTrain waiving a knife around and acting tough. The train is headed towards Production Way Station. He had been involved in an argument with two other males who had departed at Holdem Station. Police intercept the train at Production Way. The suspect spots police on the platform and throws the knife under a seat. Police take custody of the male and a witness shows police where the knife is. Investigation reveals he is breaching his probation by possessing a weapon. Escorted to Burnaby Cells.

09-14089: Transit Police receive reports of a little boy on the Yaletown Station Platform by himself. Police attend to the Canada Line Station and located the seven year old boy. It turns out he had just been reported missing by his mother to the VPD after he wandered away from his home. She was very relieved to get him back.


November 29 2009
09-13691 Broadway City Hall Station: 1755 hrs, Transit Police arrest a PATTERSON, Kevin Bentley. He was the suspect in complaint of threatening just called in by a Canada Line attendant at the Broadway City Hall station. Just prior to police attending the 49-year old PATTERSON had been in front of the station yelling and screaming at people. He swung and missed a vendor, and threatened to stab and shoot the Canada Line attendant on duty there. 

November 4 2009
Transit Police had a steady night shift and attended 37 calls for service.
Five intoxicated persons arrested, three were lodged in cells, one taken to residence and one to detox center.

09-12683 Broadway Station: Male served with driving prohibition after being checked and request from MVB was located on cpic. 

09-12711 Granville Station: Suspicious activity, filming inside of station, members confront two males filming on westbound platform. Both claim to be students at the Vancouver Film School and this was part of a project. Information recorded. Both released.

09-12713  800 blk E Broadway: Members on foot hear a crash and then observe a dark-coloured pick-up fleeing the area after it had backed into a parked car. Independent witness provides a BCL. Transit Police track down registered owner at his residence, he admits to accident, and is issued a promise to appear for failing to remain at scene of accident.
